💥 Customs Support Poland (Rusak) informs:
▶ As of yesterday, August 21, until June 5, 2025, Ukrainian honey imported into the EU will be subject to the tariff quota under the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area (DCFTA) agreement, in place since 2016.
▶ The automatic reintroduction of this tariff quota is a result of the revised Autonomous Trade Measures (ATMs) in effect since June 2024.
ℹ The ATMs include and emergency brake mechanism for selected agricultural products, which is automatically triggered if the import volumes of these products reach the average annual levels recorded between 2021 and 2023.
🍯 For honey, this level is 44,417.56 tonnes. Once this limit is reached, the Commission has 14 days to reintroduce the corresponding tariff quota from the DCFTA.
Since honey imports from Ukraine have already exceeded this limit in 2024, additional imports will be subject to Most-Favoured Nation (MFN) duties.
ℹ From January 1, 2025, to June 5, 2025, a new tariff quota of 18,507.32 tonnes will be introduced, corresponding to five-twelfths of the threshold for triggering the emergency brake.
