馃挜 Rusak Trade Compliance News reports:

鈻讹笍 On December 6, 2022, the EU Council and the European Parliament reached and agreement on further proceedings on the Regulation project concerning the EU import and export of certain goods and products related to deforestation and forest degradation.

鈻讹笍 The aim is to ensure that goods entering and leaving the common market do not contribute to deforestation of forests in the EU and other parts of the world.

鈻讹笍 The new regulation is aimed at businesses trading, among other things, goods such as cattle, cocoa, coffee, palm oil, soybeans, wood, but also products that contain, were fed, or produced using the aforementioned goods (e.g., beef, furniture, or chocolate).

鈻讹笍 Stringent regulations will impose on businesses the obligation to conduct and issue due diligence statements, indicating that goods entering the EU market and exported from it have not led to deforestation and forest degradation anywhere in the world.
